(in response to the answers to the questions i posted this morning)
Untangling!!! Is a good wooordd!!
I feel like knowing yourself, and recognizing God as your creator helps to direct your decisions, and how you live His principles.. I feel like the phrase accept jesus as personal savior is too cliched.. To need a savior one must recognize their current state of being lost, helpless, and incomplete. I feel like growing up in the church i/we never got that feeling. I always felt secure in my being, no need to rely on some other source outside parents and church for peace and security… to me, I’m still coming to the realization that there’s a number of things that ONLY God can do, even outside the scope of the environment I’ve been hedged in by.
So once we do realize christ is our primary source of life, strength, direction and peace of mind, how, daily, momentarily, do you/we live in Him….?
I feel like people (myself included) think to stop sining, you can just not do what you were doing and it be done!
But what you were doing had become a part of your way of living, your lifestyle.
So change won’t come as easy as, “I’m going to stop today”, when your life provides opportunity after opportunity to engage in that sin.
That’s why I’ve added this particular text to my list of favorite verses in the bible from Romans 13, “14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”
Make every effort to avoid walking in the way of sin.. and if that path happens to be your way, you can blame it on God right?! ….. NO! Rather… call on God remembering that He’ll never put you through anything that you cannot bear, and in Him overcome.
Realize that this encounter with sin has occurred to increase your faith in His power to save, and further solidify the character of love, the spirit of heaven in your soul.
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
Oh, fear the Lord , you His saints!
There is no want to those who fear Him.
The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.
As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
For who is God, except the Lord ?
And who is a rock, except our God?
It is God who arms me with strength,
And makes my way perfect.
how could you possibly be the answer when you yourself need help.
go after the Man who can provide direction, and not just for you but to all who seek Him.
as you travel the road to the savior, don’t let yourself be a hindrance to unbelievers
but seek him and in your search you’ll lead those to their healer
So I’ve been reading bits and pieces of the first chapter in the Great Controversy.. Enough to keep going, but not enough to be inspired, impressed and changed. So I decided to take this Sabbath to read more in depth, this book and a few chapters in the Ministry of Healing..l still have yet to get to the latter, but I wanted to share some of what I learned from GC..
“A homeless wanderer, reproach and penury His [christ’s] daily lot, He lived to minister to the needs and lighten the woes of men, to plead with them to accept the gift of life. ” GC p.20
When this life is all you know who’d want to make it eternal. So we’ve got to know of another life, a better life, that’s real and reachable, but that life is only attainable with the recognition of Christ. When you’re willing to give up this life for that life, at any cost and help as many people as you can get there too, you’ve found Christ and understood the gospel.
“He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.” (John 12:25 NKJV)
BOOM
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”
(I John 2:15-17 NKJV)
Don’t find yourself so attached to the things of the world, that when offered life eternal, apart from the attractions this world has to offer, you turn down Christ’s offer.
sometimes you need #people, who think like you… sometimes you need the #God who thought you. #personal
it’s kinda hard to hear from God as you are in the midst of sin.
we believe, or consider that our petitions and requests can be answered by God, but that kinda requires his presence, what we don’t consider is that God and sin can’t dwell together.
how is it that we expect to not only hear an answer from God but also expect Him to move on our behalf whilst we are actively engaging in things contradictory to what Gods character actually is…
1 Corinthians 6:20 KJV
I like to think of the sky as God’s canvas :) He is the best artist I know <3
The idea of “hell” has been made into such a fantasy/tale that the idea of possibly ending up there is used in a joking manner.
When will your life, eternal life, be so precious to you that you do what you must to attain it? Living a life patterned after the One who’s presence pervades heaven. Desiring the One who designed you to seek to love and be loved. To realize His love, then by nature of that love express it to others? When will we realize that the idea of true happiness and joy can be attained, and accept the small things we must go through to attain it. When will we recognize GOD for who He is, and put Him at the helm of our lives…..?
